I was really fortunate to team up with Cetaphil this month to bring to you their well known skincare duo for combating skin irritations / concerns. They were kind enough to send me the Oily Skin Cleanser and Daily Facial Moisturizer to test out. I used these 2 products religiously for 1 month.
At the time I was sent the products, I was already looking at switching up my skin care routine. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know that every season I switch up my routine by rotating in 1 or 2 new products. I do this for 2 reasons:
- I don’t want my skin to get used to a product and stop responding to the products active ingredients.
- The products I use in the Summer heat are not necessarily great for the Fall cold weather. I try to adjust my skin care routine according to my skin needs. In the Fall / Winter my skin is drier so I need to add on extra hydration.
First up in my new skin care line up is the Cetaphil facial cleanser. The Oily Skin Cleanser is for anyone that has normal to oily skin and not just for those with oily skin. It’s mild, soap-free (no foaming) and fragrance free. It removes excess oil, dirt and makeup with one application.
The 2nd product I added to my routine is the the Facial Moisturizer. It’s a light oil-free formula with SPF 15.
As I said earlier, I used both products for a month. Before I started using these products I was going through a bit of a skin episode. I was studying late and eating way to much junk food and at times I would go to bed without washing my face.
How could I treat my skin like this!
I started to have redness around my nose (more than usual thanks to the excessive sugar intake) and of course a few blemishes on my forehead and cheeks. I only have blemishes on my skin when I’m PMS’ing OR when I eat like crap! Overall my skin needed help!
Cetaphil to the rescue!
After only a week of using the products and not changing my eating habits ( lol) my skin calmed down. The redness completely diminished and my blemishes cleared up faster than I thought they would.
I really like that the cleanser is soap free as I hate that feeling of film on your face even after you’ve rinsed the product off completely. I felt absolutely no film with Cetaphil. The formula is light, opaque and one pump of product was enough to saturate my entire face. The company claims that the product was created to not strip the moisture from your skin and protect your natural PH level. I would have to agree with their claim since after using the product I never felt that my skin was itchy or dry. It felt clean and very soothed.
Along with the cleanser I used the Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 to protect your skin from the suns harsh rays. I liked how the moisturizer felt on my skin. It was light, fragrance free and non-irratating to my sometimes delicate skin. My only drawback with this moisturizer is that I prefer using SPF 30 +, so next time I’ll have to pick up the Cetaphil Moisturizer with SPF 50.
Overall, I really liked the Cetaphil Cleanser and Moisturizer and will continue to use them going into the Fall season! They are super affordable, well formulated and can be found at any drugstore.
