As I was rummaging through my makeup bag the other day, I realized that it was missing something…I needed a bold red lipstick! To be honest, I specifically needed aka wanted, the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint. I have been eyeing this baby for weeks now and I finally made my way to Sephora and gave them all my money! This fiery red lip paint is a one shade fits all product and it’s amazing!
At fist, I found it difficult to apply because the round ball applicator and I just didn’t jive! I found myself over applying the lip paint outside my cupids bow, so I decided to ditch the applicator it came with and used my own Mac Lip brush. I dipped it into the lip paint and extracted the quantity of product I needed and applied it to my lips starting from the middle of the lip and working outwards. Applying the product to the middle of the lips first, guarantees the majority of the product will be applied there. I found using a brush and this technique work great for me. There is nothing wrong with the applicator it comes with but I feel I have better precision using a brush.
The lip paint is a thick product and it applies matte and does not budge!! It was literally stuck to my lips for a good 8 hrs before I had to wash it off. I had to use 2 cotton pads with my Bioderma makeup remover to remove every bit of the stain from my lips.
This is one of those products you either automatically like or don’t like how it looks on you. Fortunately for me, this shade of red looked great on me (at least I think so lol) and once I learned how to apply it properly I was even more in love with it. The 8 hour staying power of the Stunna is definitely a plus!
Another good trick I have to applying it is to line your lips with a similar shade so you don’t overextend the lip stain to the outer part of your lip, like I did on my first attempt! I found the Make Up Forever Aqua Lip 8C is the perfect shade to compliment Stunna.
This is the only Fenty product I’ve tried so far. Next on my list is the the Fenty Beauty Matte Foundation, whenever Sephora decides to stock my shade, 330!
Another product I picked up, because my makeup bag so badly needed it * wink wink*, was the Natasha Denona Holiday palette. I know I’m kind of late the party on this one but hey it’s never too late to show support to a great artist as she is one I definitely admire.
This palette is just gorgeous and stays true to the Natasha Denona quality. I picked up this palette shade as opposed to Aeris 2 which is the other holiday palette. These shades are more wearable for me and I just love love the burnt terracotta and ice blue!
These are all metallic shades except for burnt terracotta which is matte. They are buildable and have little fallout. The only shade that gave me more fallout than I expected was Nude.
This palette is definitely one that I know i’ll get a lot of use out of. I just can’t explain to you guys just how gorgeous ice blue is! Below is a look I created using burnt teracotta on the crease, nude in the inner corner, red bronze on the outer corner, ice blue on the lower lashes line and Stunna on the lips.
To cover up my over caffeinated and sleep deprived dark circles, I used, for the first time, the IT cosmetics Bye Bye Under-eye concealer. This concealer is full coverage , waterproof, paraben and cruelty free. It dispenses very thick but once you warm it up between your fingers it will thin out. A little bit of this product goes a long way. I’m using the shade medium tan but I could also wear medium.
So far I really like this product because it’s long lasting as I wore it for around 8-9 hours and it didn’t separate through out the day.It comes in a variety of shades so as my skin gets darker during the summer I can still find a shade that suits me well! I made sure to apply powder over the concealer to set it. I usually wear a colour corrector under the concealer but for this look I forgot to apply it and to my surprise I didn’t need it. This is a good product to try out if you are looking for full coverage and a brightened under-eye!
Have you tried any of these products? If so, which ones and what did you think of them?
