This winter has been harsh to us in Canada! I believe we broke a few records in December. December 28 Ottawa was the coldest capital in the world!
How is this possible?
I can definitely see the the damage the cold weather has done on my hair, my nails and most of all my skin. It’s become so absurdly dry that I’ve decided to shake up my skincare regime and get my skin back to healthy!
I’ve introduced the belif™skincare system to my day to day routine . For those who are unfamiliar with belif™, they are a Korean skincare brand that combines modern science with herbal traditions. The results are amazing products that help nourish and heal the skin, fast!Read more
As I was rummaging through my makeup bag the other day, I realized that it was missing something…I needed a bold red lipstick! To be honest, I specifically needed aka wanted, the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint. I have been eyeing this baby for weeks now and I finally made my way to Sephora and gave them all my money! This fiery red lip paint is a one shade fits all product and it’s amazing!
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint
At fist, I found it difficult to apply because the round ball applicator and I just didn’t jive! I found myself over applying the lip paint outside my cupids bow, so I decided to ditch the applicator it came with and used my own Mac Lip brush. I dipped it into the lip paint and extracted the quantity of product I needed and applied it to my lips starting from the middle of the lip and working outwards. Applying the product to the middle of the lips first, guarantees the majority of the product will be applied there. I found using a brush and this technique work great for me. There is nothing wrong with the applicator it comes with but I feel I have better precision using a brush.Read more
It’s 2018 and I’m ready to spill all my blogger secrets!
Do you ever wonder if beauty bloggers share everything with you all? The answer is HELL NO honey!
Apparently we do not and this came to light for me this past weekend!
There are some makeup products I don’t really share with my readers because I either think no one else really cares to know about them or no one else likes them as much as I do so why bother to discuss them. Well that changed on New Years Eve when I lent my sister a setting powder and lipstick to borrow for the night as she couldn’t find hers and all the stores had closed early since it was New Years Eve.
Throughout the night I started to received these one liner texts such as ” You skank ” (yes, we talk like this to one another… if you are offended please stop reading and abort this blog post because It doesn’t get any cleaner lol).
I hate leaving 2017 on a negative note, but honestly guys I had to share my experiences with you on these hyped up products I regret buying in 2017! Usually, I don’t follow the masses but with some of these products I was really curious so I took the plunge and bought them and regret quickly sank in. Usually if I don’t like a product I have no problem returning the item BUT sometimes I get a bit too lazy to make it back to the store or it’s an online purchase and I don’t want to waste more money returning it, so I end up blogging about my experience! Win -Win I say!
Who’s ready to welcome 2018 ? I am !!! 2017 was a great year and I saw lots of professional and personal growth I’m hoping 2018 brings more growth for my blog and my makeup artistry business, which I have to say brings me so much joy! I’m m so happy I found this passion of makeup + blogging , albeit even if it was later on in my life. Truly I believe that if you have a dream and it makes you happy you should chase it at all costs!
I used to always worry about failing in this industry. At first when I started doing makeup I had a small kit with all drugstore brand makeup ( Maybelline masacara is life people!!) I was practising on my sisters, mom and friends and I didn’t have any paying clients and I was ok with that. But then it came to a point where I really wanted to get paid as a makeup artist because I had invested so much time, effort and money into my skills, so one day I answered an “ad” on facebook for a bride looking for a makeup artist for her wedding which was the next day as her makeup artist backed out on her last minute. On a whim, I PM’d her and she responded back with “let me see some of your work”. I sent her some pics and she liked them and booked me. I was ecstatic, she was super super sweet and the appointment went well and I couldn’t have been prouder of myself !! Read more
