When this limited edition ABH Master Palette by Mario came on the market, I contemplated for a hot minute on whether or not to invest in it. Of course I snapped back to reality, ran to Sephora and grabbed it! Thank the makeup gods that I did because this palette sold out very quickly and I doubt it will be restocked. There are 12 neutral and jewel-toned shades in a range of matte to shimmery finishes. The packaging is somewhat bland, unlike the Renaissance Palette that came in a beautiful pink velvet case. The Master Pallet is black with muted gold writing. Not bad, but not very creative. It comes with the standard ABH double ended brush and a mirror.

Of course ” Kim” and “Muse” would end up being my favourite shades, along with Bronx, 5th avenue, Paris and Isabel. “Kim” and “Muse” can be worn day or night and blended together to create a gorgeous plum-golden look. To complete any day look using the Master Palette, I suggest a brown/taupe liner on lash line to add a bit of drama to the eyes. This palette is worth the cost if you prefer wearing the neutral shades like I do. Mario himself is very much in love with all neutral shades. He prefers to layer these shades to deepen the eye look. He’s not a fan of outrageous colours and it definitely shows in this palette.
The shadows themselves are creamy/velvety almost buttery smooth. The only shades I found somewhat dry are Claudia, LuLu and Hollywood ( look at the swatches to gain a good understanding of what I mean by dry). I have many many palettes (15 and counting)and I find this one has the best pigmentation, texture and colour payoff. It’s so versatile as the shadows can be worn alone if you desire or blend several together to create your own signature look! The shadows are very neutral so you won’t achieve an overly dramatic look using the shades. It is one of the most wearable palette I own. The longevity of the shadows are on par with other ABH shadows, so you apply these shadows in the morning and still have them look fresh by evening. I experienced little fall out from this palette.
