I’ve been lusting over the Charlotte Tilbury makeup ever since I saw an advertisement for the “FilmStar Bronze and Glow” palette in a magazine! The Charlotte Tilbury brand exudes glamour and luxury. Gleaming rose gold lipstick tubes and gorgeous streamlined rosy palettes *swoon* ! Yes it was love at first sight, but how do the products add up? Are they worth investing in ? I was given the opportunity to experiment with a few products such as lipsticks, an eyeshadow palette and a multitasking “Beach Stick”. Here are my thoughts on the products.
The lipsticks are enclosed in a rose gold tube with the “CT” logo on the top of the casing. The shades I experimented with are “Kim K.W”, “Kidman’s Kiss” and “Hel’s Bells”.
“Kim K .W” lipstick is CT’s signature “K.I.S.S.I.N.G” formula. This is a luminous nude shade with pink undertones that was inspired by Mrs.West herself. All of CT’s “Hot Lips” lipsticks contain a blend of antioxidants , special waxes that help nourish the lips and light diffusing pigments that give the illusion of a fuller pout. I was most excited to test out this shade as I’m always looking for a good nude shade. I’m happy to report that I wasn’t disappointed. This lipstick has a creamy texture, glides on easily and lasts for hours! It never dried my lips or feathered. I was very pleased with the neutral pink tones of this lipstick. It’s a very neutral and subtle shade, in my opinion, that’s exactly what a true nude should be. All of CT’s lipsticks have a slanted tip, which mimic a lip brush so you can use it as a lip liner to line the lips. Bonus!
“Kidman’s Kiss ” is CT’s signature “Matte Revolution” formula. Charlotte herself describes this shade as ” just-kissed rose petal-pink “, how luxurious does that sound! Miss. Nicole Kidman is the perfect muse for this shade, don’t you agree ? This petal-pink shade has a soft matte finish and as with all of CT’s lipsticks, it’s formulated with a blend of antioxidants and orchard extracts that help protect and nourish the lips. The colour stayed put for about 4 hours, even through happy hour!
The last shade I experimented with was Hel’s Bells. This shade is named after the eccentric Helena Bonham Carter. It’s a magenta mulberry shade and it’s fabulous. It’s a luminous matte shade that is buildable and long lasting. I didn’t experience that drying feeling that is common with matte lipsticks. This lipstick dried matte, but was very hydrating on the lips and gave off a luminous shine. I was intimidated at first to wear this deep colour to dinner with my husband but delighted I did. He thought it was very sexy, and it is! This rich dark wine shade adds a lot of drama to your lips and who doesn’t enjoy a bit of drama in their life!
The ” Rebel” Luxury Palette is one of many palettes created by CT to take any women from a pretty day look to full on glam makeup. The palettes all have 4 shades that blend effortlessly together to give an overall beautiful eye look. The shadows themselves have good pigmentation, are easy to apply and this specific palette has a bit of shimmer in it. I had no issues applying the shadows with a flat shader brush and blending with a fluffy brush. The shadows once applied and blended still had a very vibrant look to them and felt very silky on the eyes. This, in my opinion, is a sign of a well made shadow! Layering of the shadows was effortless and placement easy because CT has taken the guess work out of applying eyeshadow. Flip the palette over and you will notice there are eyeshadow placement tips ! Now, everyone can rock a gorgeous smokey eye! . Thanks CT!
The Beach Stick is a unique product in the line up of Charlotte’s Easy Make up in a minute range. It’s a multitasking product that mimics a youthful glow when applied to the cheeks and lips. The Beach Sticks are highly pigmented, easy to blend and contain small particles of shimmer, not glitter, that help create a radiant on the go glow! This product comes in various shades. The shade I used,”Es Verda” was a bit too red for my skin tone, however, I used it sparingly and was still able to achieve luminous ” just came back from the beach ” skin!
I applied it straight from the stick and used the best tools I had, my fingers, to blend the product over my cheeks and lips. My second instance applying the Beach Stick I used a beauty blender and it didn’t fair well. I wouldn’t recommend using any kind of sponge to blend the product out, your fingers are the best tools! Charlotte has a great youtube video on how to use the Beach Sticks. If your interested in viewing it I’ve linked it here for you. The best part of the video was that she used several Beach Sticks to create an overall glowing look!
Overall, I was very happy with all the products I received for consideration. They are all worth investing in because the quality of the product is very good. I definitely will be investing in a few more matte lipsticks and the Beach Stick lip to cheek in ” Moon Beach”. I definitely need to get my hands on the “FilmStar Bronze and Glow” palette since it was that single product that made me fall in love with CT!
