The eyes are the windows to the soul. Whether you’re looking to give your health a fine-tuning or you need to shake up your look, the eyes give so much away, but making them stand out can prove to be quite a complicated task. But when there are so many different ways to define your eyes using shadowing, highlighting, or contouring, it can be incredibly confusing. What are the best ways for us all to make our eyes stand out using some of the best tricks of the trade?
Don’t Connect Your Eyeliners
One of the best tricks to make your eyes look wider, separating the top and bottom eyeliners. If you leave a gap between the two, this will create the illusion that they are bigger. And if you want to add more to this, go for a nude eyeliner or cream color. You can find cream color eyeliner in every shade to suit your skin tone. If you want to look more awake, especially those people out there that aren’t getting much sleep right now, creating the gap between the bottom and top eyeliners will work wonders.
Defining Your Eyebrows
It’s a very difficult task, filling in your eyebrows properly. But filling in your eyebrows doesn’t have to be complex. As long as you start with clean brows, brush upwards and then fill in the gaps carefully, you’ve got the bulk of the job done. Adding to the tail creates a more dramatic look. And after you fill in the brow, use the spoolie once again to brush the brows outwards towards the “10” and “2” positions as if your face was a clock.
Curling Your Eyelashes
Using mascara to define your eyes is a tried and tested method. But if you want to open your eyes out more, using a lash curler will go even further. Just make sure you use the color before you apply the mascara because this could cause you to pull out your lashes. As far as definition is concerned, your eyelashes could do with opening up.
Use Tape When Applying Eyeshadow (my favourite trick)!
It’s a very easy way to make a lot of mess under your eyes. But when you apply eyeshadow, put a small piece of tape under the eyes and when you have finished applying your eyeshadow, peel it off and there is no fallout at all. No fuss, no mess!
Holding Your Brush Vertically
If you want to add extra definition to your lashes, hold the brush vertically. This will catch the really small ashes along your bottom lash line. It also catches the outer top lashes and the inner corners. This gives you a wider depth of definition.
The Power Of Concealer
Adding a quick layer of concealer to your eyelids will minimize the veiny look everyone dreads. If you are looking particularly tired, this gives them an instant lift.
There are so many different techniques that you can transform your eyes in so many ways. In fact, you could say that you can do them with your eyes shut!
