I’m more excited than I probably should be about this post ūüôā

This is my first ever empties post. I don’t know why I never did one before but here it is now.

Obviously, I’ve saved these products over the course of many months. Traditionally, an empties post is done on products used up within that month but we’re rule breakers over here so we do what we like ūüôā

Confidence In A Cream- IT Cosmetics

I did a full review on this product and you can read about it here.¬†Bottom line is this product got me through a very harsh winter. It’s a very creamy and thick moisturizer which may turn some people off, but I loved it. It kept my skin hydrated and looked healthy and glow-y all day, every day. I ran out of it fairly quickly as I used more than I should but it just felt so good on the skin and helped me avoid the dreaded dry patches I usually get ūüôā

    YES to repurchase!

    Secret Sauce – IT Cosmetics

Secret Sauce is another IT Cosmetics winner. It’s full of amazing anti- aging ingredients like peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and licorice root. You know how much I love my Hyaluronic Acid.I loved how creamy this product was as well. If I put on moisturizer and I can’t actually feel the product on my skin or if it feels runny, it turns me off of it. I need to feel like my face is being coated with the softest most luxurious cotton money can buy, and Secret Sauce feels like this! ¬†I also did a full review on this product here.

    YES to repurchase!

I use ¬†a lot of moisturizer during the cold months. My skin becomes extremely dry so a good moisturizer is a necessity for me Belif moisturizing bomb is a great product if you’re like me and need extra hydration to your skin. I wouldn’t say this moisturizer has any anti-aging properties, but it will keep your skin looking plump. I wrote a whole review on this product and you can read about it here.

YES to repurchase, but for the Spring / Summer I would switch to a product that has a thinner consistency as this moisturizer is really thick for warmer weather.

This line was formulated to prevent the signs of premature aging. The packaging of this product is very pretty and feminine. The Revitalizing Cream contains a blend of very exotic Korean based ingredients such as Safflower from Sancheong, Jiri Mountain that improvise skin tone and complexion ; Ginseng from Punggi and Goji Berry from Cheongyang that give long lasting hydration to the skin. I have repurchased this product about 3 times and have never been disappointed. Full review on the blog here

YES to repurchase! I am obsessed with K-Beauty and this by far has been one of my fave moisturizes. I highly highly recommend this product if you want to brighten up your complexion.

¬†This product was gifted to me by SHISEIDO. I don’t have a lot of experience with the brand but have tried a few makeup products that I liked but, never repurchased any of them as I wasn’t totally blown away by their effectiveness. I’m not stating that they aren’t good products but they didn’t work out for me. This moisturizer on the other hand I fell in love with. I loved¬†how luxurious it felt on my skin, and its fragrance was divine. As a night cream, it works very well as my skin felt brand new the next morning.

I can’t comment on the anti-aging effectiveness of the products as I’ve only had the opportunity to use up one bottle. The reason I never repurchased is because of the price tag. You guys, this night moisturizer is $375 CDN! ¬†For that price I better wake up with a whole new face!!! #sorrynotsorry¬†

NO to repurchase due to the hefty price tag. It definitely is a luxurious item and feels AMAZING on the skin, that I cannot deny but I simply cannot justify the cost.

7 Skin Saving Products I ‘m Dying To Try and So Should You!

With Summer coming to a close and the colder temperatures approaching, it’s time to start thinking about switching up your skincare routine. I’m a firm believer that every season you should swap out a skincare product and introduce a new one to your¬†already extensive day + night ritual to achieve new results. According to Dr. OZ “healthy skin is important because it’s your first line of defence from bacteria and other environmental pollutants”. Let’s not forget to mention that your makeup applies and looks impeccable when your skin is¬†healthy!¬†That’s why this Fall I’m looking at incorporating one or two of these skin saving products to maximize my results!
This extra strength peel contains 3 high potency acids ( AHA, BHA and Mandelic Acid) that exfoliate the skins rough patches to reduce the look of fine lines and uneven skin tone. I have had great experience¬†using BHA¬†and AHA, but at 40% acid potency I think you are almost at professional grade quality. I’m definitely¬†interested in trying¬†this at home peel.
I’ve¬†developed a few sun¬†spots around my eye area and it’s¬†irritating me because I use¬†SPF 30¬†sunscreen¬†every single day,¬†but that’s still not enough to deflect them. In my defence though, I don’t put¬†sunscreen too close to my¬†eye area as it really¬†irritates me. I have read amazing¬†reviews¬†on this serum that targets sun spots and makes your skin luminous. I’m willing to pay the hefty price tag to test it out and¬†hopefully banish them forever! I’m not yet¬†ready to have a laser treatment such as IPL so I think this is my best non-invasive¬†option!
As important as it is to take care of your face, it’s equally as important to nourish the rest of your body. This is another Murad product that has¬†received rave reviews online from bloggers and woman around the globe (yes I also read beauty blogs lol). What’s unique about this body cleanser¬†it that it’s formulated to draw out all impurities from your body. I read online that this white clay cleanser detoxifies your body like an Epsom salt bath would but in the shower! I’m definitely up for that.
This product blew up on my Instagram feed(insert shameless plug here)so of course¬†curiosity¬†got¬†the¬†best of me and I had to¬†check it out online. This overnight mask leaves a thin film on the face as it hydrates, replenishes and soothes. It contains ylang ylang, sandalwood oil, and orange flower to promote deep sleep.¬†This is a¬†huge Korean beauty favourite so of course I’m already intrigued!
boscia is a botanically based , preservative free skincare line. I’ve always been curious about this brand and the more I researched them the more I like their philosophy.¬†
This product is made from the low-alcoholic Japanese drink, Sake. Sake has been proven to provide great skin benefits such as hydration and luminosity. It also contains jojoba leaves to prevent free radical damage. This¬†moisturizer is another K-Beauty hit so of course¬†it’s on my list of¬†products to¬†experiment with.
It’s no secret that Rodan¬†+ Field
s has become a phenomenon in the skin care industry that even caught the attention of Ms. Britney Spears herself. She is praising the brand for keeping her skin subtle, youthful and free of blemishes. I’m very¬†interested¬†in trying the complete¬†REDIFINE line as I’m already using the¬†REDEFINE¬†Multifunction eye cream and I see a huge difference in my eye texture and dark circles. It’s recommended to use the whole system¬†together to truly achieve amazing results, so I may just¬†go for it and order the¬†complete REDEFINE Line!
I never cared much for¬†facial toners till I read in a magazine how advanced toners have become and how essential they are to a daily skin care regime, especially in the colder months. The more sophisticated toners will add moisture, soothe redness and are packed with antioxidants ( a.k.a. anti-aging). This one is a no brainer and I will be picking this up¬†sometime this week. I ‘m a fan of Simple¬†products¬†because¬†they’re very¬†affordable and are proven to work!

Korean sheet masks are all the rage now!

Well it’s been all the rage for the past year, I just happened to hop on this beauty “trend” a tad late…it’s still hot though!

I bought a few sheet masks from THE FACE SHOP a month ago and I posted this picture on my instagram  and it got some love:
It turns out ¬†many of you are just as curious about the Korean sheet masks as I am. Well here’s what I researched about them. The sheet mask beauty regime originated from Korea ( duh!) and is used by almost everyone from women, men, celebrities, to teenagers so basically everyone around the globe.! ¬†Sheet masks are individually wrapped and target different skin concerns such as dullness, firmness, acne, hydration and wrinkles.
The individually wrapped sheets are super convenient , affordable ( $5 – $8) and in a 15-40 minute period can give you glowing healthy looking skin. This is because the sheets are dripping with serums/gels that are loaded with antioxidants and natural ingredients to address your skin woes.
Some sheets are single sheets and others come in 2 parts, 1 for the upper face ( eyes) and another for the lower face ( nose , jaw, cheeks).  Some sheets are single use ( meaning you use it once and toss it ) and others you can use again ( 2 times max). The sheets adhere to your face and stay put for the duration required.
Warning: The images you are about to see are frightening! Approach with caution!

I tried my first Korean mask last night. It was the Myeonghan Miindo Heaven Grade Ginseng Mask Sheet ( reusable) that I purchased from THE FACE SHOP for $5. It contains Ginseng and 24K gold hydro gel to help fight wrinkles, hydrate and brighten skin tone. Yes, I look hideous! I know!
It was a 2 part sheet mask ( 1 upper and 1 lower). As this was my first sheet mask experience I didn’t properly adhere the mask to my face as you can tell. 4 minutes in to the treatment I read the back of the packaging ¬†and I was supposed to pat the sheet lightly for full absorption to the face.
The mask felt very soothing and gooey on my face at first. There was no tingling sensation just a soothing one. After 40 minutes, as per the recommended usage, I peeled the sheet off and gently put it back into the packaging as I can reuse the other side of the mask the next day.

    //NO FILTER//
    //NO MAKEUP//
This is my skin after removing the sheet mask. I did instantly notice the dry patch on the sides of my nose and my jawline was gone, that surprised me! I loved how smooth my skin felt and YES my skin was illuminating!
I have other sheet masks also purchased from THE FACE SHOP such as Honey and Peony to try next week. I’m impressed with how easy it is to use these masks and I’m loving the instant results. This definitely is a game changer for me as I’ve seen amazing results on my friends from daily use (even twice a week is beneficial) and I’m excited to achieve the same results.
The Korean sheet mask ¬†“trend” isn’t going anywhere any time soon. There is a whole industry built around these convenient packages and I definitely see why. They are budget friendly and offer a variety of ingredients to target your specific skin concerns. As for me, this will change my skin care game! I’m experiencing a lot of issues with the skin dryness lately and I was on the hunt for a budget friendly alternative and I hope I found it!
I will be doing another review on the masks once I’ve used them for another few weeks ūüôā
Have you tried these masks? If so , comment below. I’ld love to hear from you!
Disclaimer: I purchased the products with my own money. I was not gifted the sheet masks and I was not compensated for the post. The opinions expressed are my own. I am not affiliated with THE FACE SHOP.
