I know this post is a bit late….. 20 days late to be exact 🙂
Here are my absolute favourite skincare products from 2019 that I’ve carried over into 2020! These are skincare products I’ve bought over and over again. #1 DAMN IT THEY WORK and #2 they didn’t break the bank!
Pixi Beauty DetoxifEYE ($30)
First up are the Pixi’Beauty DetoxifEYE patches. I wrote a full article on them here!
I use them twice a week and I think I’ve on my 7th or 8th jar. They have a great mix of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid +caffeine to supercharge the under-eye to lift, hydrate and get rid of the puffiness! At 41 I started to see more puffiness around my eyes and after every use of the DetoxifEYE patches the puffiness was no more ! These patches are great as a pick me up after a long haul flight or when you’re getting ready for a special event and want to ensure your eyes look youthful and healthy! I can go on and on about these that’s how much I adore them.
Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel ($70)
A new addition to my routine that I’ve become obsessed with is the Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel . It was a sample I received from Sephora and instantly fell in love with the results. This was my first intro to the BIOSSANCE brand. I’m sure you’ve seen or heard a lot about Squalane lately, but this isn’t a new ingredient, but more and more cosmetics companies are incorporating it into their products as it’s been proven to deliver results. Squalane is an antioxidant that delivers fatty acids to your skin to keep it hydrated, supple and full of moisture. Peptide acetyl tetrapeptide-5 also plays a huge part in decreasing puffiness and smoothing out wrinkles.
I saw the BEST results using this product morning and night. Literally, one half pump was enough to cover both eyes. My under eye is now brighter, looks younger, healthier and I was able to apply concealer on top and not have it crease or look cakey. I haven’t had healthy looking under-eyes in a long time and truly feel this guy right here is the reason why I feel better about my skin. The key is to use it morning and night !
I wasn’t planning on discussing this product in this particular post as I really wanted to showcase the amazing benefits of the peptides and Squalane in a dedicatee post but oh well, I was too excited and decided I needed to share this find right now 🙂 BTW, I loved this eye gel so much I ended up buying the full sized product.
IT Cosmetics Miracle Water 3-in-1 Tonic -Cleanser($50)
I haven’t talked about this product in a long time, but I can honestly say that I use this micellar cleanser every single morning and night and have done so since I received it in PR back in 2018. I have repeatedly purchased a bottle every 3 months. So if you do the math, that’s a lot of bottles 🙂 I have tried other micellar cleansers and I always regret it and go back grovelling to my Miracle Water. To truly appreciate the this product you will need to read my article here.
This product is such an important part of my routine that if I skip it for some odd reason I immediately regret it. IMO it really cleanses the face and gives it a nice glow that even after applying makeup I can still see. Love this so much ! I pray they never stop making it!
CERAVE MOISTURIZER ($20)
This is the only moisturizer I’ve been wearing for over a year now. It’s a very lightweight with SPF 30. I wear it every day under my makeup and I believe it helps protect my skin form the suns harmful rays.It has zero fragrance and applies really nicely. There’s nothing really outrageous about this moisturizer but it works so I repeatedly buy it. Because ( I hate starting a sentence with ” Because”but oh well ) I use separate anti- aging serums and oils I like my moisturizer to only have SPF. I don’t really need any anti-aging properties in my daily moisturizer. Does that make sense? Some folks think I’m crazy but honestly I don’t think it’s done me wrong so far.
THE INKEY LIST
This brand is new to my lineup and I have been wanting to experiment with them for a long long time so I ordered a bunch of products from my local drugstore. So this post is not an in-depth look into the brand and the products but let me tell you I am working on an in – depth article discussing The Inkey List and I think a lot of people will benefit from it! I didn’t want to include them in this lineup of must have 202o products , even though they are truly worthy of this exposure, as I wanted to introduce them to the blog with their own solo article but I would be hiding the good stuff from you and I just couldn’t do it. So if your’e interested in trying any of their products, I highly recommend the following:
- Rosehip Oil ($10)
- Hyaluronic Acid ($9)
- Retinol ($12.99)
There are so many things I love about these products. Off the bat you can see they are budget friendly. I don’t think I saw any product over $15!. I also love that they are super easy to layer on-top of one another and their versatility. If one day I feel very dry I add a bit more Squalane and Rose hip oil, if I’m not dry that day, I may only add Rosehip and skip the Squalane.
The InKey List Retinol ( 1%) was my first experience with Retinol and I think I found the one! I didn’t experience break outs or develop dry patches like most people said might happen. I’ve had such a great experience with this brand so I’ll stop talking about them now as I need to leave content for the dedicated Inkey article 🙂
